An Invariance Principle for Conditioned Trees

چکیده

We consider Galton-Watson trees associated with a critical offspring distribution and conditioned to have exactly n vertices. These trees are embedded in the real line by affecting spatial positions to the vertices, in such a way that the increments of the spatial positions along edges of the tree are independent variables distributed according to a symmetric probability distribution on the real line. We then condition on the event that all spatial positions are nonnegative. Under suitable assumptions on the offspring distribution and the spatial displacements, we prove that these conditioned spatial trees converge as n → ∞, modulo an appropriate rescaling, towards the conditioned Brownian tree that was studied in previous work. Applications are given to asymptotics for random quadrangulations.

An invariance principle for random planar maps

We show a new invariance principle for the radius and other functionals of a class of conditioned ‘Boltzmann-Gibbs’distributed random planar maps. It improves over the more restrictive case of bipartite maps that was discussed in Marckert and Miermont (2006). As in the latter paper, we make use of a bijection between planar maps and a class of labelled multitype trees, due to Bouttier et al. (2...

We give a realization of the stable Lévy forest of a given size conditioned by its mass from the path of the unconditioned forest. Then, we prove an invariance principle for this conditioned forest by considering k independent Galton-Watson trees whose offspring distribution is in the domain of attraction of any stable law conditioned on their total progeny to be equal to n. We prove that when ...

Invariance Principles for Planar Maps 3

Random planar maps are considered in the physics literature as the discrete counterpart of random surfaces. It is conjectured that properly rescaled random planar maps, when conditioned to have a large number of faces, should converge to a limiting surface whose law does not depend, up to scaling factors, on details of the class of maps that are sampled. Previous works on the topic, starting wi...

On the genealogy of conditioned stable Lévy forests

A Lévy forest of size s > 0 is a Poisson point process in the set of Lévy trees which is defined on the time interval [0, s]. The total mass of this forest is defined by the sum of the masses of all its trees. We give a realization of the stable Lévy forest of a given size conditioned on its total mass using the path of the unconditioned forest. Then, we prove an invariance principle for this c...

Invariance Principles for Non-uniform Random Mappings and Trees

In the context of uniform random mappings of an n-element set to itself, Aldous and Pitman (1994) established a functional invariance principle, showing that many n ! 1 limit distributions can be described as distributions of suitable functions of re ecting Brownian bridge. To study non-uniform cases, in this paper we formulate a sampling invariance principle in terms of iterates of a xed numbe...
